IVANA
SUMMER
PERCUSSION
FESTIVAL

june 19-22
Samobor/ Croatia

ISPF 2022
It has been some time since Samobor and percussion have seriously fallen in love.
After a decade of colouring the Samobor Autumns with numeros shades of percussion and marimba music, and bringing exciting concerts by renowned international guests under the name of Ivana Bilic Marimba Week, we have decided to turn to the starry skies and late summer nights for new inspiration.
In these unusual times we don't want to give up on music and art.
The opening of the new season brings to the audience a unique collaboration between Young Musicians Orchestra under the baton of Matija Fortuna and the Percussion club in a program celebrating percussion. We are proud to present the premiere of Rio de la Plata, the new concert work for percussion and orchestra by Lucas Guinot.
This years' featured guests include some of the most wonderfully virtuosic and dynamic artists. Aurora duo (percussionists Delia Stevens and Leo Le yu) and Percussion Club, an international percussion platform. They have prepared programs featuring original compositions and arrangements for percussion duo, quartet and more featuring guests like Borna Šercar, a unique musician and artist known for his creativity and originality.
All along, the open-air stage will be ready to host some gifted and interesting musicians from Zagreb Academy of Music, since it has become our tradition to promote young, upcoming percussionists at the festival.
The participants concert will present works by Belgian percussionist and composer Walter Mertens who will be conducting the student’s ensemble.
